he really is a nice kid.
Every musician, critic and zitty faced girl or boy listening to endless CD's in their room all have the same question in the back of their minds - "What is the next big sound?" Unfortunately, I have found myself thinking about this same thing always on the lookout for different music trying to predict the next step in music history. Is it just me or did we just get bored and now we are letting any band that can carry a note on the radio. Honestly, I hope the bands like Staind and Puddle of Mudd are finished with the hud that they threw into the music machine. I like the way you smack my what? Thanks, Fred Durst for uncovering that Puddle of Crap.

New music can be risky and dangerous. Some will reject and not understand that which sounds different from the NSYNC radio songs played on the radio. Fans and critics can blow you to pieces with their views on what is good and what's not. I'm tired of hearing what the music future is going to be and what it isn't going to be. Virgin employees can go crazy recommending bands like CKY as the future of Rock and Roll. Thanks to her my friend SLINKY wasted 17.99 of his hard earned money to discover that CKY is in fact not the future of Rock and Roll. It's honestly getting out of hand. What will the future of rock and roll or sound like? That's a great question but I think an Irvine, California band has the potential of pioneering a unique sound of their own.

Thrice was first discovered by the Bendies as the opening band for AFI. Their new CD, "The Illusion of Safety" was purchased a few weeks ago and now I can't seem to get it out of my CD player. Their music is contagious and I found myself wondering why kids in the world are not listening to this CD. Possibly because exposure has not been there, but fortunately it is shortly on the way. Thrice has beautifully taken the metal guitar and everything that comes with it and has made it their own. They have given to their fans the perfect blend of intensified screaming mingled with a great melodies to make them a band to look for in the future.

Their sound is original and unique and when bands like Boxcar Racer are trying to sound heavier Thrice has already created the formula. Their style of music has not been easily defined in the past which makes them that much more interesting and uncalculated. They play everything on the album hard and fast, dropping a speed bomb on anyone who listens. You can't help but be moved in the direction that Thrice wants to take you with this new record.

Thrice may not be the start of the next new musical wave but it has the energy and songs for world domination at any level. The record has amazing guitar riffs and each song contains several different musical parts to create amazing songs. I wish Thrice the best in their journey and hope they can find their place in the musically world. The only thing missing is someone smacking their A*% but fortunately that lyric was already taken.
